  • Psalm 72 – Shame on the Lectionary

Psalm 72 is the responsorial for today and the lectionary successfully obliterates the imagery of verses 6 and 7.  Here’s how the lectionary reading looks online. Psalm 72 in the Lectionary Responsorial Psalm 72:1-2, 3-4, 7-8 R.  (see 11) Lord, every nation on earth will adore you. O God, with your judgment endow the king,…

  • Well, I'll be Consigned! … I'm Orthodox

There’s a new Biblioblog Top 50 and it has me labeled “orthodox.”  Honestly, that’s the first time I’ve been called orthodox in a while, but I’ll take it.  I keep trying to tell people that I am, but most of them in my parts don’t believe me.  And, since Karyn is labeled “orthodox” too I…

  • 3 Kindle Shortcuts

I’ve been doing a good bit of my Biblical Studies reading on my Kindle.  And, the main problem I was having at first was that it was cumbersome to add notes and mark places in the text.  Also, going into menus to start text-to-speech was a bit annoying as well.  But, here are three shortcuts…

  • John Hobbins' Invisible Fence?

John Hobbins has written a post in response to Joseph Kelly’s three part (so far?) series on inerrancy.  Frankly, it seems to me a bit like John is sitting (quite perturbed I might add) on an invisible fence.  I certainly get the point, and agree, that in/errancy should not be in the forefront of our…

  • Debunking John Loftus

Up until a couple of days ago, I didn’t really know who John Loftus was, but apparently he now has a Biblioblog and has passed me in the rankings.  So, I hit him with the oldest trick in the book to welcome him in.  Check out the video: Sorry, John.  But, you may have get…

  • Coolest Coffee Cup Lid Ever

I’m probably just way out of touch and don’t get out much.  That’s probably why I haven’t seen this, but this is awesome.  I hate those coffee cup lids that are like tabs or plugs.  I always end up spilling coffee and/or burning myself.
