Wow! John Hobbins has been busy blogging for the last couple of days. Ancient Hebrew Poetry is one of my favorite blogs to actually read. Some blogs are good for a blurb here or there. Others are good for a quick laugh. But, John normally writes substantial posts in terms of content that are kind of in the goldilocks zone for me in terms of length (just right). I don’t have time to read extensive treatises or check out a whole lot of very short posts either. However, he normally doesn’t post over 10 times within two days. That’s what he did this past week. I guess Philip Davies got him worked up. Here are some of the posts that I would check out if I were you in addition to the response to Davies, which is well worth the time:
- Old Testament Ethics: A Starter Bibliography
- “Killing in the Name of God”: A Starter Bibliography
- Pinning down the historical context of biblical texts: Genesis 1
- Chance, Predestination, and the Power of Prayer
