No Old Testament Lectionary Reading Today – How Lame is That?

Well, I think the blog title says it all.  There’s no Old Testament lectionary reading today (except for the Psalm).  And for that matter, there are none for a while here except on Sundays and feast days.  They decided to go with that Revelation book instead.  What to do?  What to do?  I know.  I’ll try that Bibliomancy thing, I linked to earlier.

Flip… 1 Chronicles 9.39 “Ner begot Kish, Kish begot Saul, Saul begot Jonathan, Malchi-shua, Abinadab, and Eshbaal;”

Don’t think that’s going to work. Flip… Numbers 1.38-39 “Of the Descendants of Dan, the registration of the clans of their ancestral house listed by name, aged twenty years and over, all who were able to bear arms — those enrolled from the Tribe of Dan: 62,700.”

Shoot! I wonder why no one tells stories about “I just opened up my Bible, pointed my finger, and there it was … A genealogy.”  Or, “I just opened up my Bible, and God showed me this … census data.”

Oh well.  Maybe I’ll do a series.  If you have any suggestions for series topics that might interest you, let me know in the comments below:
